Description

This is an original UK album sleeve only for David Bowie's The Man Who Sold The World
released in 1971 on Mercury Records. The story of this sleeve is that I originally bought it
off a man who used to run a record shop in the early 70's. He told me that the sleeve was
hanging up behind the counter and that when someone came in to buy it the shop assistant
mixed it up with the wrong David Bowie album inside and sold the debut Bowie album with
this 'Dress Sleeve' and the debut album sleeve with the MWSTW album!

So I have had this for years and have decided to part with both - this sleeve and the debut
Philips album - both in this auction along with a lot of Bowie demo singles.
This sleeve has some very light creasing along the top and a small mark on the top right
where a sticker was once upon a time but they are minor flaws on what is an incredibly
scarce item anyway. Remember - there is NO record, only the first Bowie album on Philips
which I am auctioning separately.
