Hello there and welcome to my auction. Please read my descriptions carefully before you bid. Please make sure you read everything especially the condition of each vinyl. The grading and criteria are below.

This is an auction for:  David Bowie – The man who sold the world - RARE Original Vinyl LP album 1971.

Original 1971 UK Pressing on Mercury Records.

RARE Original pressing with “Dress” cover.

100% Genuine Original and Authentic pressing.

This is also the mis-credit version with Tony Visconti’s name printed as “Tonny Visconti” on the centre labels of the records.

PLEASE NOTE: There is a scratch on the last track on side 1 which causes some loud continuous clicks for around one minute. There is a slight hiss just before the clicks start in the groove between the tracks and the very slightest of jumps but only very slight. This is between the tracks so is not major. The clicks start when the track starts but don’t last long. Still enjoyable though.

The back of the sleeve also has some defects.

I am not looking for offers on this record I’m afraid and there is no buy it now price.

Vinyl Condition: G (The record has some surface marks and light scratches but is in decent condition for its age and plays well with good sound. There is some light crackle and some pops and clicks heard in places. There is a scratch on the last track on side 1 which causes some audible clicks for a minute or so. There is a slight hiss in the groove between the last two tracks on side 1 and the slightest of jumps but only slight. This is between tracks so is not major. The clicks start when the last track begins. Still enjoyable though and the clicks don’t last long.  There are some light circumference marks but nothing major. There is surface crackle at the start of side 2 and some clicks and pops heard but clears up as the side plays on. Overall the sound really is nice and does not sound distorted. It is a shame about the scratch at the end of side 1 but at least it plays and is a lovely collectable album. Centre labels are good with no writing. Some spindle spidering but overall good condition).

Inner Sleeve Condition: G/VG

Outer Sleeve Condition: G (Textured sleeve is generally pretty good but has some defects on the back. At some point someone has drawn over Bowie’s lips, nose, eyes and eyebrows in light blue pen. There is also a name written in pen on the top left on the back. This is very feint though and is not very noticeable. Also the track listing has some pen underlining’s and just above the credits there is a rectangular sticker removal mark. The front of the sleeve is very nice. There is some light rubbing and the odd dirt mark but overall very nice. The spine is also very nice. Some light wear but text is nice and readable. Overall for its age the sleeve is pretty good no splits).

I grade my records as follows:

M = Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Unplayed and sealed records are referred to as Mint.

Ex = Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have minimal wear and/or creasing.

VG = Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.
Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects.

G = Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

Fair = The record shows signs of extensive play and may have many marks and deep scratches but will still play ok but with significantly lower sound quality. Artwork will be rather worn with possible splits, small rips, scrapes, dents, or maybe water damage.
