David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust + Hang Onto Yourself.
2 x Original UK 45rpm RCA Records One Sided Master Stamper Plates.
Complete with Original Storage Box !!
Matrix Numbers BGBS 1160 E1 + BGBS 1057.
These stunning and unique discs are the original metal master stampers sets used in the production of this classic Bowie single.
At the time in the UK industrial action and rising oil costs made the production of vinyl very expensive. RCA who at this time had many of the worlds best selling artists on their roster looked overseas for a solution to this problem and began to import discs from the USA pressed using a cheap vinyl called Dynaflex. They also used pressing plants in France and Germany. These pressing plates were made for export to France but by the time they were needed the oil crisis has ended and production resumed in the UK.
These discs are positives and can be played on conventional record decks like a normal record.
Disc One (Ziggy) is in Mint/Unused Condition.
Disc Two (Hang On...) is in Excellent Condition (has a blemish at the start that sounds faintly for 30 seconds)
