Description
This is for the rare, Plum Atlantic label first pressing, gatefold edition of David Crosby's debut solo album "If only I could remember my name". Cat no.: 2401005.
Now 45 years old the record and jacket have been well preserved and are both in excellent condition. There is a small mark left on the front cover, about an inch above The main man's left eye (right eye as you look at it). To be honest it is so insignificant the accompanying photo will barely pick it up. I'm just being super honest here!
The vinyl plays like a dream.
Crosby's debut solo album from 1971 is now acknowledged as one of THE unsung recordings of the 1970s. Every song is beautifully crafted and the musicians involved - an indication of the respect afforded Crosby - reads like a who's who of west coast rock/folk/psychedelia from the era.
Sadly, addled by his many drug habits, Crosby would not record another solo album for well over a decade ..and even then it paled in comparison to this debut outing.
Personnel include (gasp) - Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Grace Slick, Jerry Garcia, David Geffen, David Frieberg, Graham Nash, Paul Kantner, Gary Burden, Jack Casady, Gregg Rolie, Phil Lesh and many many more.
I'm moving house shortly and reluctantly having to sell my much loved record collection as I'll no longer have space to store them all.
