Beethoven - Triple Concerto
(Columbia SBO 2753 UK LP 1959)
This is a UK original Stereo 10" LP pressing. It has a fully laminated flipback sleeve which has a small circular gold "Stereophonic" sticker on the front. The flipbacks have a die-cut rounded area at the centre. It has its original polythene-lined company "Emitex" inner sleeve.
The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has turquoise blue & silver Columbia labels. These are grooved also. It has 1st press YA 342-1 and YA 343-1 matrix stampers. A genuine UK 1st Stereo 10" LP pressing. These are quite rare.
Sleeve: Very nice indeed! There is some light to mild rubbing wear to three corner tips. There is one tiny bit of rubbing wear to the centre of the bottom edge. There is some light ringwear too. EX condition
Vinyl: There are some light to mild sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. There are three small hairline marks on Side 1. These measure 1 cm to 1.5 cm only. There is a very light 3 cm hairline mark on Side 2 too. VG condition. The labels are in excellent+ condition & show very light spindle wear only. The company inner sleeve is in Near EX condition. There is some light ringwear & small sticker/ record seal stain at the top. There are no seam splits.
I have fully play tested this LP. Unfortunately it is quite a crackly copy overall. It plays Good+ to VG overall. There is some light, mild or more moderate crackle noticeable in the quieter places. One of the small hairline marks on Side 1 causes some light intermittent clicks for approximately 1 minute. This LP would almost certainly benefit from a professional clean. The majority of the crackle is due to deep down dirt in the grooves & not from groove wear. The disc is visually relatively nice & clean.
