Description: Incredibly rare David Peel & the Lower East Side DJ Promo 7" 45 RPM single. A side: Hippie from N.Y.C, (3:19) B/W: The Ballad of New York City / John Lennon - Yoko Ono (2:45). Both tracks from the LP "The Pope Smokes Dope". Stereo. Ono Music, Inc. BMI. Produced by John Lennon / Yoko Ono. SPRO 6545 / 6546. Labels read: "PROMOTIONAL RECORD NOT FOR RESALE" on both sides with patent to 1972 Apple Records, Inc.  You probably don't know anyone who owns this. If you do then you're likely in over your head in the record collecting swamp or you just have really good taste in friends. I wish I could say this baby was minty, but I'm an honest guy. The condition isn't terrible. If you're an enthusiast call it a VG, if you're a snob call it a VG-, if you're a jerk then call it a G+, if you're a sucker then THIS BABY IS BORN THIS WAY. MINTY MARBLED. All kidding aside, you're buying an incredibly rare (only few hundred in existence? or less?) promo single that has been handled, enjoyed, loved, forgotten, and postaudibly appreciated, yes there are scuffs, but no, you won't see another again. There is a little surface noise (the ol' snap, crackle and pop) under or behind the music itself.  However, I am happy to claim that there are no skips, cricks or pricks with this rare 45. I will confidently say that it does not interfere with the sound.  John Lennon. Here's the matrix numbers in the runout for those of you that like that stuff: hand etched S-PRO-6545-F-1 then there's a stamped 1 and a stamped Wal-Mart exclamation logo (*). The same on the B side except the second 5 is now a 6: S-PRO-6546-F-1. Winning bidder and I get to be penpals. 

Record Grade: VG or VG-, please see above. No interference in output.  No skips. Yes surface gray noise behind music. 

I will mail this via USPS Media Mail well packed in a record mailer and protected by bubble wrap from movement during shipping. I can upgrade to USPS Priority for 2-3 day shipping for an extra fee. All records are mailed within one business day of purchase with the exception of purchases made on Fridays after noon, I cannot make the post office on the weekends. I need until Monday to ship Friday orders. Notes on Record Conditions and Grades: ? I am not a professional grader but I strive to accurately grade and describe the conditions of all media mailed out. We understand that that grades are subjective but we try to make them as objective as possible. If you receive a record that falls over a grade behind what has been described, we are happy to accept returns or reconcile errors in listings.? I will have tested most records on my Stanton turntable with a new needle, I change the tracking weight on occasion but try to keep a consistent tracking at 1.0 to 1.5 grams. I will note all visible scratches and skips if they apply to the above record.
