Davy Graham, Midnight Man.

Third and regarded by many as the best solo album by the legendary and innovative folk/blues/jazz/ guitarist Davy Graham. This was the follow up to his "Folk, Blues & Beyond" LP.

Original 1966 UK pressed Decca Records mono LP, LK 4780. Earliest issue red and silver grooved label with non-boxed logo and 1A/1A matrix suffixes.

Vinyl in excellent condition. There are a fair amount of spider trace marks visible at centre spindle areas, although not excessively so. However, LP has clearly been both handled and played with care. Surfaces have a rich and bright gloss with just a very few isolated tiny and wispy superficial hairline scuffs.

Playback is excellent throughout, and free of underlying background crackle, ticks or pops. The LP is not groove damaged or distorted and displays that superb bright dynamic which Decca presses are renowned for.

Labels have a good appearance still, and neither has any damage, stickers, inscriptions etc.

Inner sleeve is original poly-lined white die-cut. This is in good condition, although somewhat age tanned.

Main sleeve in mostly very clean and acceptable condition, Laminated front is still bright and there is no laminate peeling or air pocketing. Just a tad of barely noticeable age tanning to far right side. No creases. No seam splits or wear and spine still looks good. Entry side very slighty feathered, and with a small closed tear to top edge of rear. Just a touch of rubbing to tips, very minor. Unlaminated rear panel is somewhat darkened with age and storage, and displays a tanning stain to top right corner.

All in all a very nice issue however.

A Note On Grading:

Note that audio grading is subjective and based on sensitivity of equipment used for playback. In this instance playback has been tested on a vintage Technics Quartz Direct Drive SL1700 MKII turntable with Shure cartridge, Technics SU-C 03 amp and Technics SB-F2 Linear Phase speakers.

Also note that I generally do not clean vinyl unless so noted. Most vinyl will show improved playback quality with your preferred cleaning method, but I leave this to the prospective buyer, as controversy still surrounds the ideal method of cleaning vinyl. Instances of crackle near the beginning of sides can often be improved with cleaning, as these areas of the vinyl surfaces are the most prone to debris from handling.
