Description
NOT VINYL !! This Dead Moon – Nervous Sooner Changes Album is on Cassette Tape and it is a RARE original 1995 first edition, with a clear plastic (embossed “Made in USA”) on the cassette box and comes with a pristine J-card included.
The album features studio recordings from their 1990s era, with a mix of blues, garage, pop, alternative, rock and punk genres.
This special Edition Rimpo collector's item comes as true rarity* as first “pressing”, making it a must-have for fans of garage rock /punk music. Though the release date of this original cassette tape is 1995, it has been in air-conditioned archive/storage for almost 30 years and is hence in like-new condition. (I play tested on professional tape/reel machine)
* I received this tape from the band (Andrew Loomis) while working for German radio, interviewing them in the 1990s. Exact numbers of quantities it was produced in are not known. I believe it was mostly hand distributed as an ‘advance copy’ of their official release with the same name (but may contain differences), and it is quite likely that not more than 100 copies of this were actually produced (considering Dead Moon's cult-status 50 more likely) BUT I cannot say this for sure. Considering the age, environment and Dead Moon's hard core listenership it is likely that most of the few distributed cassette copies have been used up (consumed by cassette players or perished in car stereos) by now, and it is safe to say that this surviving copy here is an absolute RARITY by now.
It's true value is difficult to ascertain, and my valuation is based on similarly rare advance tapes that I have placed on auction (Sublime, Brian Jones Town Massacre, Rammstein etc.) which all sold for significantly more than the starting price, but I am open for sensible offers. Dead Moon have a cult-status yet are more attractive to the Punk community than popular/mainstream acts.
The limited first edition cassette tape, released in 1995 under the Tombstone Records label, is in near mint condition (NM or M-) for both the inlay/sleeve and the cassette grading. The box/case has some cosmetic wear but it’s also in very good condition. It is a great addition to any serious music collection.
