A good copy of Death In June's 1985 album.

The vinyl is in good condition, there are however quite a number of scuffs and hairlines

on both sides and a number of more obvious, yet still superficial, marks also on both sides.

I have play tested the album and nothing mentioned above has any affect on play or sound quality.

Even the quiet sections in between tracks have very little surface noise to report

and certainly no clicks or noises that would suggest a scratch.

My copy is possibly a first pressing, but I'm not 100% on this as there were several

very similar pressings, all with the same matrix.

I am pretty sure it is not a second 1986 pressing, as the labels on the record of this pressing

are white, while mine are blue. This pressing also has a glossy inner sleeve

and my inner sleeve is matt paper.

The third pressing after 1990 is similar to mine, but has a tell tail thumb cut on

the lyric side of the inner sleeve, which mine does not.

I am also pretty sure I owned the album long before 1990, so this discounts this pressing.

Which leaves us with the first pressing in 1985.

The timing would seem to fit when I bought the album. Label colour and inner sleeve

material and colour are consistent with this first pressing, but it appears there was a

line of text in the bottom left corner of the lyric side of the inner sleeve, that mine does not have.

Without having the three versions of the outer sleeve to compare, I'm also not sure if the cover is

the light sheen of the first pressing, or the gloss of the second, or the leather effect of the third.

Having said all of this, all three version are priced similarly on Discogs.

But because of my uncertainty as to which pressing mine actually is,

I have started the listing at a price well below the mean price of the first two pressings

and still quite a bit less than the mean price of the 3rd pressing.

The outer sleeve is in good condition.

Three of the corners are in good condition, the forth, the top left one

has more damage than the other three.

This can be seen in the listing images.

The spine is in good condition with the exception of the top due to the

corner damage mentioned above.

Unless otherwise stated every record was purchased by myself from new and only ever played

by myself on my own deck and with as expensive a cartridge as I could afford at the time.

When it comes to attributing a grading to each of my records I will confess I am not an expert.

And while both the Goldmine standard and The Record Collectors systems give us a number of agreed fundamentals

to help determine a grading for vinyl and its associated media, attributing a true and accurate grading to something as

individual as a pre-owned piece of Vinyl is unavoidably subjective.

One person's 'slight scuff' may be another's deal breaker.

With this in mind I will endeavour to describe as accurately as possible, in the descriptions of each listing,

not only what I feel to be a fair grading, but also an overall description of the record in question, along with details

of any and all marks, defects and anomalies I can see.

I am a firm believer in the maxim of - if you can feel it you can hear it.

So if there is anything that looks or feels like it may possibly affect a record's playing quality or sound clarity,

and therefore the pleasure derived from listening to it or its true value to a collector, I will give it one final spin

and make my findings known in the product description.

Over and above this I am happy to take returns.

I personally wouldn't bid on a pre-owned record without the option to return it if I felt that the seller hadn't been

totally truthful and transparent in their description of it, or that on receipt it didn't live up to my expectations. 

And I do not expect you to do so either. 

So please, feel free to bid with confidence.

I am a professional photographer by trade, and have gone to great lengths to light and photograph covers, inner sleeves

and the vinyl themselves in such a way as to show, as accurately as possible, the actual condition of all.

Rest assured that what you see is exactly what will be despatched to you if you are the successful winner of each listing.

Before photographing each record went through a three stage cleaning process:

1 - Removal of any surface dust with a light brushing over with a carbon fibre and velvet disc cleaning pad

2 - Deep cleaning with large (Big Fudge) velvet pad and cleaning solution

3 - A final brushing with a Pro-Ject carbon fibre record brush.

And finally, because Mr or Mrs  Poasty may not handle your record with the same care and reverence that you or I would,

I will dispatch in a specialised corrugated cardboard record mailing outer, and if I feel even more protection is required

I will also include two extra sheets of 3mm corrugated cardboard for added safety and protection.
