Description
This is another sale from my collection of classical records, which includes early stereo rarities on Decca, Columbia, HMV and RCA.
1957 UK mono pressing on Decca records of LXT 5228 Rachmaninov Sonata for Cello and Piano played Zara Nelsova and Artur Balsam. Decca second label, silver letters on orange background. The matrix numbers engraved on the run-out are ARL-3116-1A and ARL-3117-1A.
Grading
The condition of sleeve is VG, wear to the corners and a tear on the opening and laminate has lifted in places. I have tried my best to show all these things on the photos. Visually grade the record as VG. There are 3 faint scratches close together on side 1 (about 2 cm each). Side 2 has more faint marks and scratches. Faint spindle marks are on both labels.
It plays well on my Linn Sondek, no skips, jumps - crackle in places on both sides so I would audio grade as VG.
Note that record will be posted in a cardboard record mailer. Sleeve will be in a plastic sleeve, separate from the record and inner sleeve. Record and inner sleeve will be in a card sleeve.
Finally, please note that the posting costs will be as follows
Royal Mail Signed For 2nd Class £4.10 - UK
Royal Mail International Tracked and Signed For £17.50 - Worldwide
