Label: Decca Cat#: SXL2060 Label Info: Wide Band - ED1 Country Released: UK Release Year 1959/60 Composer(s) Mendelssohn Title: A Midsummer Nights Dream Conductor Peter Maag Orchestra London Symphony Orchestra Soloist N/A Style Romantic Vinyl Condition: Notes Having cleaned and listened to the record back to front, I have found grading tricky (hence the reason why I’ve left the headline grading blank). Visually, it has a great lustre to it’s surface and I can only make out a couple of very superficial marks which do not effect playback.
Ordinarily I would give this record an "EX-" grading. There is some hiss as the needle hits the outer dead wax which soon subsides to a very low level once the needle hits the groove. Through thicker orchestration it is unnoticeable. However, this recording being what it is, the dynamics vary considerably and to some, the very mild background hiss, through thinner orchestration, may be unacceptable. Further, considering the potential collectability/interest in this record, please consider this a VG++ copy and be pleasantly surprised if you judge it EX. Sleeve Condition: VG+ Notes Original inner sleeve. Some bubbling to laminate here and there and mild wear to corners. What looks like the original pricing sticker from Leeds, England, rear top right (I'll leave that up to you if fancy removing that). Shipping International shipping will be handled by eBay Global shipping. Forwarding costs and any import taxes will be calculated by eBay. I would usually offer cheaper 2nd class postage but will be sending this one signed for. Returns I do try and be fair and with my grading and try to include as much info as possible.
