on Decca Wideband Gooved Ed 1 label ('Original recording by' text) SXL 2101, 2102, 2103
Description: This is a boxed set. The box has some wear to the edges, but is generally sound with all eight corners and the hinge intact. There is some foxing to the inside of the lid. There is a minimal wear to the spine gold lettering, and it is still fully legible.
There is an are of damage to the front of the brochure - it looks as if a piece of sellotape may have somehow stuck to it, then been ripped off again. There is also a copy of the substantial libretto which runs to 81 pages in very good condition. The vinyl is in good order with just the odd light scrape, no nasty scratches. It has some obvious spindle marks in evidence, but it plays well, with just some light background crackle in places, quite possibly dust / static buildup. (As with many records of this age, it might benefit from cleaning on professional grade equipment.)
This is a decent version of this 1959 recording - I'd guess that this might be professionally graded at (box / vinyls) VG / VG+ / VG+ VG+
