Decca SXL 2223 UK 1st Stereo Wide Band FFss Schumann Sym 1&4 Josef Krips EX!

This is a historic recording.  I believe it is also a 1st edition.

The record/vinyl is in Excellent condition.  It is a very nice copy for its age, although some sleeve scuffs are visual.  I cannot see any other major visual imperfections or scratches at all on either side of the record.  It is generally nice, just some minor scuffs.  I played a few minutes on the first side and there was some faint pops and clicks.  I jumped to the last movement and it sounds brilliant, very clean with a big, full sound.  I would suggest a cleaning of the record.

The inner paper sleeve I believe is the original sleeve-poly lined with no tears or damage.  It is also in Excellent condition.

I would grade the outer jacket as Good – Very Good condition.  I will start with the back cover.  Some fading/age spots and slight ring wear is visible.  It does look its age, but there are no seam splits or damage.  The front is intact, but…there is a tear going through from top to bottom of the cover.  The tear was repaired very well and it can hardly be seen, largely do to it being camouflaged within the picture.  The repair/tear blends in with the birch trees in the cover photo.  It really is only noticeable if you are proactively looking for it.  It is identifiable on the top-middle and bottom-middle sections as a small line.  All else, including the jacket spine and opening are well intact.

I believe this is a somewhat desirable record.  If the outer jacket condition is acceptable, this would be a beautiful addition to anyone’s classical record collection representing the music of Robert Schumann.
