Description
Decca SXL 2252- Ibert Divertissement, Bizet Jeux D'enfants, Saint-Saens Le Rouet D'omphale, with Jean Martinon conducting the Paris Conservatoire Orchestra.
This is the 1st UK press, which I believe was published in 1962, the performances I believe were in June 1960.
The laminated sleeve is in excellent condition. There are one or two light marks on the top of the front sleeve, and one or two small scuffs on the reverse, but there are no rips or tears to the lamination, or indeed the sleeve itselt to note. There is a 3cm sticker on the reverse that is from a record shop that this would have once been sold.
The record is in strong very good condition. Visually, I would grade it as excellent; it retains its original sheen, and has only one or two light surface marks which are visible under strong light. The A side, (Ibert Divertissement) is in excellent condition. There is little surface noise, even in the quiet sections, and there are no crackles or pops that lessen the sound. The B side is in very good condition. The Bizet "Jeux D'enfants" plays without fuss for the first three movements, but there are a few "clicks" in the 4th and 5th movements, (Duo and Galop). It must be noted however that the record does NOT jump. The Saint-Saens is in excellent condition, with minimal surface noise throughout The labels are very clean, with some minor signs of spindle marks..
The record has the "ORIGINAL RECORDING BY" in the correct 10 O clock position, and is the wideband groove.
MATRIX: ZAL-4957-2E + ZAL-4958-1E.
The record is housed in the original Decca company sleeve, which is in excellent condition, with no rips tears or folds.
