Description
This is a first label pressing (ED1: Early Decca 1st) identified by the centre label that features a wide silver band above the centre hole, a circular groove in the vinyl about 1cm in from the edge of the label and the words "ORIGINAL RECORDING BY" printed on the rim of the label at 11 o'clock.
The matrix numbers are: ZAL-5055-2E & ZAL 5056-1L
The LP was made in England and the disc is dated 1960; the sleevenotes are dated 1961.
The inner sleeve is period Decca FFSS printed poly-lined paper.
The LP will be supplied with a protective PVC sleeve and packed in a commercial Defenda LP mailer made of corrugated cardboard (no charge for these).
Condition of Disc The disc is glossy, with clear signs of surface wear and spindle wear around the centre hole. There are several non-sounding light scratches and scuff marks. I have listened to Side 2 in its entirety and after wiping with a damp cloth, it plays beautifully, with only 2 or 3 faint ticks. I have conservatively graded it as 'VG ' (Record Collector grading system).
Condition of Sleeve The sleeve is free of writing, tears and sticky labels. It shows only minor signs of shelf/handling/ring wear. Graded 'Excellent'
