The front lower right corner is torn away, revealing inner sleeve. The number '12' has been written on the rear upper left corner, but is unobtrusive and does not overwrite printed text. The bottom edge of the sleeve has been repaired with strips of clear adhesive tape.
Vinyl is excellent, a couple of minor, light scratches only.

We're absolutely thrilled to have found this, it's been quite a while since we came across a Decca SXL in the highly sought after 2000 series. Although it's fair to say that the sleeve has seen better days - crucially, the vinyl itself is in excellent condition. Extract from sleeve notes: Hilde Gueden, of all the world's leading operatic prima donnas, has shown a particualr instinct and style for singing operetta, and here her programme displays the wide variety of moods she can capture. Maybe her versatility is accounted for by the fact that she was born in Vienna of an Italian mother and a Hungarian father, and studied singing in Rome and Paris. Since Vienna is where almost all these operettas originated, it is fitting that the record should finish with Johan Strauss's Wiener Blut. This collection of Operetta Evergreens may be described as definitive since Hilde Gueden has established herself as to-day's Queen of Operetta, and Robert Stolz is without doubt the Grand Old Man of Operetta, who has lived through the golden age of operetta and contributed both as composer and conductor, and carried on the tradition for over half a century. cShippingcccc>>>cccccccc>>>cccccccc>>> cXtra safety - packed using 2-layered cardboard
