Description
This is another sale from my collection of classical records, which includes early stereo rarities on Decca, Columbia, HMV and RCA.
1969 UK stereo pressing on Decca records of SXL 6426 Schubert Sonata for Arpeggione and Piano and Bridge Sonata for Cello and Piano played by Mstislav Rostropovich and Benjamin Britten. Label is wide band without groove. The label has “Made In England” at 10 O’clock. The matrix numbers engraved on the run-out are ZAL-9193-1W and ZAL-9194-3W.
Grading
The condition of sleeve is VG+, slight wear on opening and corners, some creases on front cover and marks/ring wear on rear sleeve. “Oct 70” written on top left corner of rear sleeve. I have tried my best to show all these things on the photos. Visually grade the record as VG+. There are faint sleeve scratches on both sides that show under strong light.
It plays well on my Linn Sondek, no skips, jumps. A bit of crackle in places so I would audio grade as Excellent.
Note that record will be posted in a cardboard record mailer. Sleeve will be in a plastic sleeve, separate from the record and inner sleeve. Record and inner sleeve will be in a card sleeve.
