Description
Released after their successful 1970 'In Rock' Lp, Deep Purple's 'Fireball' (SHVL 793) took their hard, bluesy, dense, and creative sound one step further. Many consider 'Fireball' Purple's definitive moment (some fans might make an argument that 'Machine Head' is even better) a powerful and seamless document of a band at its peak. But if you think you've heard this album....think again. The copy I am offering is the EXTREMELY rare variant with fully and heavily "textured" labels (as opposed to being smooth to the touch) They are similar in look and feel to the early "Pink" Island Records labels. The playback from this copy is truly outstanding..... loud, heavy, dense, clear, and distortion-free.
Condition of Gatefold Jacket: VG .....edge, spine and corner wear...creasing; overall, still a very presentable example of this delicate and textured gatefold jacket.
Condition of Record: Excellent- ......very nice gloss....and though hairlines and marks can be seen to both sides, amazingly they have little effect during playback; with almost no surface noise to speak of; no doubt due to the high quality deep-groove-like pressing.....the vinyl itself has substantial weight.... around 160g but probably closer to 170g......very impressive.
