Description

An original 1st issue of Fireball on the Harvest label from 1971. "1C 062 92726-1/2...". Please note the labels still mention 'Gramophone' in the perimeter text. Analysis of the label and deadwax leads us to believe this an export copy bound for the German market - hence the German catalogue number. One would assume this copy was produced in '71 to meet demand in Germany before they had local production up and running. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original UK textured cover. No lyric sheet or original inner sleeve.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In great condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback S1 and then VERYGOOD+ on S2. Intros and inbetweens are reasonably quiet and the audio come across with very good clarity. Interference is, thankfully, mostly minimal and reasonably infrequent. We detected a bit of static in places on side 2 - mostly minor in nature and more audible in the quieter sections. A very decent rendition of, perhaps, Purple's best work.
Cover (Vg+) In great shape and has been looked after down the years. Nice clean front with lightest handling. The rear is in similar fashion with just a couple of sticker removal marks at the top. The interior is in great condition - no major issues. Edge wear is reasonably light, with just a tad more on the spine [don't expect the text in the spine to be legible]. Overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity.
