Deep Purple Fireball Stunning First press UK Vinyl LP

SHVL 793A-2U PEK PD 3 (The “PEK” is hand etched and probably refers to porky & Peko or George Pekham, a mastering engineer of some note.)

This is the Best First pressing of Deep Purples Fireball that I have ever had, it is the first original UK pressing with Gramophone Text Rims, Textured gatefold sleeve and 12”x12” insert.
Later pressings do not have Gramophone Text on the rims.
Presented in a Textured Gatefold picture sleeve printed by Garrod & Lofthouse in September 1971 and includes the original un-split original Poly Lined Harvest Sleeve.
The sleeve is in near mint condition with no tears or writing, there are some minute scuffs at the opening on the reverse but nothing that would make this cover any less than near mint condition.
The Inner sleeve is also in near mint condition with no tears, writing or seem splits, there is some yellowing at either side but I believe this is caused by the glue used to hold the sleeve together, it is almost not noticeable but it is worth a mention.
The insert is flawless and rates easily as Mint condition.
The vinyl plays superbly, it lays flat on my deck and produces a powerful and deep sound, there are some very light static noises in-between a couple of the tracks but this fails into insignificance when clarity of the music come in.
As with all records that have not seen a turntable for 30 years the first few plays will always remove any debris that has accumulated in the grooves over the years and this record after just one play sounds astonishing. Under a 100 watt bulb and held at an angle you can see some extremely light wispy dust marks but under normal light this record looks stone mint, this leads me to grade the vinyl as Near mint, there is certainly no needle or playing damage and has been very well cared for by the original owner.
As always you are welcome to return this record if you feel that it is not graded or described correctly but I will be surprised if you are not happy with the sound quality.
