One of Deep Purple's four indispensable albums (the others being In Rock, Machine Head, and Burn).
1971's Fireball saw the band broadening out from the no-holds-barred hard rock direction of the previous year's cacophonous In Rock. Metal machine noises introduced the sizzling title track -- an unusually compact but explosively tight group effort on which Jon Lord's organ truly shined.
The somewhat tiring repetitions of "No No No" actually threatened to drop the ball next, but the fantastic single "Strange Kind of Woman" nimbly caught and set it rolling again, just in time for the innuendo-encrusted hilarity of "Anyone's Daughter," featuring one of singer Ian Gillan's first (and still best) humorous storylines to go with one of guitarist Ritchie Blackmore's most uncharacteristic, bluesiest performances ever.
"The Mule" opened the vinyl album's second side with what is perhaps Purple's finest instrumental, and on the hyper-extended "Fools," the band members proved they could flirt with progressive rock without plunging off its cliff (although the song could probably have done without its drawn-out middle section).
Closing the album was the exceptional "No One Came," where intertwining instrumental lines locked together beautifully, Gillan wove another entertaining yarn that was part autobiography and part Monty Python, and the often underrated skills of drummer Ian Paice helped the song sound so unreservedly fresh and intuitive that one could almost be convinced the band had winged it on the spot.
Sure, the following year's Machine Head would provide Deep Purple with their commercial peak, but on Fireball, the formidable quintet was already firing on all cylinders.
Condition of Vinyl: EX+ with an EX++ or better AUDIO.
FIRST PRESS FIREBALL VINYL IS FAR HEAVIER THAN THE LATER ISSUES, AND THIS ONE IS REALLY SOLID. THE VINY GLEAMS LIKE A POLISHED MIRROR AND HAS LOST NONE OF IT'S ORIGINAL LUSTRE
There are quite a few very, very light only hairline surface marks.
A lovely piece of glossy vinyl.
Remember i am grading my records under a very strong light. This is an AMAZING copy with an AMAZING sound, practically perfect!!!
LABELS: GENUINE FIRST PRESS LABELS WITH 'THE GRAMOPHONE CO' RIM WORDING. LATER PRESSES HAD EMI RECORDING AT THIS POINT. The labels are in great condition. Splendid deeply coloured attractive examples. No wear around the hole areas, with all ink uneroded and fully intact. Virtually no spindle traces to be found. The vinyl still fits very tightly around the record spindle. Deep intact colour, Minimal spindle traces only. Great all round examples!.Check photos.
Plays loud, strong and incredibly vibrant with amazing depth and clarity to the sound and my play-check at loud volume found no major audio issues of note - no scratches and no grove-wear or distortion. Plays nearly perfect, with some very, very light surface noise only at times in the run-ins and some of the quietest passages but at times all you hear is silence. AMAZING AUDIO!!!
This is a great record!!!. Beautiful!!! No jumps or skips.
Condition of Cover: EX.
The gatefold sleeve is also in great condition with no tears or splits but with very light signs of wear all around.
There are no splits or tears, the sleeve is intact
There are a few very, very light creases along the spine.
The Spine is in great condition with some very little spots filled with pen. Check photos!!!
There are light signs of ring wear.
The inside looks beautiful.
The inner is in great condition. PERFECT!!!!.

GRADING:
All records are graded using the UK ‘Record Collector’ format:
MINT (M): The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
PACKAGING INFORMATION:
LPs and singles will be sent in a record mailing envelope and will be protected by two cardboard stiffeners.
