Description

An original 2nd pressing of 'IN ROCK' on the Harvest Label from mid-1971. Matrix A2/B1. Stampers 1-GHL/4-GTR. Please note the perimeter text states 'Gramophone' and there are EMI logos. So, whilst the matrix cut is identical to a 1st issue this pressing would have originated from roughly 12 months after 1st release. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover printed by Garrod & Lofthouse. NO original inner unfortunately.
Vinyl (Ex+) Is in superb condition and clearly has only seen very light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. these Emi pressings are absolutely stunning from this period - if you can find a really clean copy - Bingo!! Interference is almost non-existent. All we detected was a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. Even 'Child In Time', the super fussy track with low-key moments, plays nigh on perfect. And lets not forget this copy is a mere 12 months from the original masters - nice!
Cover (Ex) In great condition and has been cared for down the years. Lovely shiny front cover with barely a crease. The rear is in similar condition. Edge wear is very light and all the text on the spine is just about  still legible. There is a 1c.m. section of wear on the spine. The interior is in great condition too with only the lightest handling wear. Overall the cover retains superb rigidity. A lovely example.
