Here for auction is an exceptional example of the iconic studio album by DEEP PURPLE titled ‘MACHINE HEAD’, Catalogue Number TSPA 7504. This is an ORIGINAL 1972 UK STEREO PRESSING on the PURPLE RECORDS LABEL, with A-1U/B-1U Matrix Numbers and a stunning 1st issue Garrod & Lofthouse Sleeve. This particular record is a rare copy which has the unusual combination of the 1U/1U matrix numbers together with the later ‘EMI RECORDS…’ text around the tops of the record labels, rather than ‘The Gramophone Co. Ltd…’ text which you would expect to find on a 1U/1U first pressing.
This is a very loud-cut and vibrant pressing with superb sound quality. When played at loud volume it sounds absolutely sensational. The record plays perfectly. All frequencies are crystal clear and there is no discernable deterioration in sound quality. There are no pops or loud clicks and barely any unwanted noise at all. Lead-in and linking grooves play with near silence. You simply will not find a better playing copy of this wonderful album!
