DEEP PURPLE - MADE IN JAPAN Purple Records 1972 Double Album TPS 3152 ( Rare First-Pressing - A1u/B1u/A1u/B1u engraved 1"Porky" 2 "Delta Pork" 3 "Pecko", 4 "Peckie"). Vinyl Ex /Laminated Gatefold Cover (by Garrod & Lofthouse) Ex
The mighty Deep Purple recorded live in Osaka and Tokyo in August 1972 at the height of their power and pomp. A magnificent set of performances featuring tracks from " In Rock", "Fireball" and "Machine Head" including "Smoke On The Water" (of course), "Child In Time", "The Mule", "Lazy", "Space Truckin" and "Strange Kind Of Woman". The vintage vinyl sounds fantastic with a full rich 1st pressing sound from thumping bass and drums, grinding organ, stinging guitar and whisper to a scream vocals.  This copy has been in my personal collection since '72 and played but well looked after. There are some surface marks that don't affect the sound and some quiet surface noise between tracks and a few minor ticks here and there (at the beginning of "Child in Time" for instance ) but nothing that spoils the listening experience to my ears and so I would grade it as Excellent. The cover is also in Excellent condition with just a few minor scuffs and scrapes but brilliant for its age at 44 years old.
