THE VINYL IS VG++  WITH, UNDER LIGHTS, A FEW RANDOM ALMOST INVISIBLE LIGHT SURFACE HAIR LINES AND NO SCRATCHES ON VERY SHINY ORIGINAL VINYL -  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
PLAYS VERY STRONG, INCREDIBLE MASTERING HIGHLIGHTS THE KEYBOARDS DRUMS AND BASS . NO REAL SURFACE NOISE PERHAPS THE ODD CRACKLE BETWEEN ONE OR TWO TRACKS, OTHERWISE THE DYNAMICS ON THIS VASTLY SUPERIOR UK RECORD ARE SUPERB!! EVEN ON THE PURPLE VERSION OF RIVER DEEP, THERE IS NO SURFACE NOISE WHICH AT THE BEGINNING IS EXTREMELY SOFT AND QUIET AS JON LORD PLAYS A FUGUE AND THE TRACK STARTS WITH WIND BLOWING. IN MOST COPIES THERE IS SURFACE NOISE THAT IS PROMINENT IN THIS QUIET PASSAGE. THIS ALBUM PLAYS PERFECTLY! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

FINALLY ONE LAST WORD RE HAIRLINES, IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND ANY NON SEALED RECORD WITHOUT THEM, MANY HAD THEM FROM NEW. MOSTLY THEY ARE A RESULT OF STORAGE AND USE AND USUALLY HAVE LITTLE IMPACT ON THE SOUND QUALITY. THE SAME GOES FOR BACKGROUND NOISE, UNFORTUNATELY ALL RECORDS WILL HAVE SOME AND THIS VARIES AND REFLECTS THE PRESSING QUALITY. 

Most records have production marks where someone touched or moved the vinyl while it was still semi-soft.  These marks look like smudges, but are not scratches or "paper scuffs" and do not usually sound.  Untouched vinyl from newly-opened records have these marks.

How I Grade Condition Of Discs

Mint

This means I have owned it from new or purchased from a distributors warehouse, basically it means absolutely new shape, never been played or out of its dust cover. In the case of LP's, a North American album will have to be factory sealed (anyone can reseal an album!) Take Note: European and Japaneses albums were never shrink wrapped!

Note: Being mint does not guarantee it's free of pops and clicks, many pressings especially from the US were made with very poor vinyl and in a hurry which means often there are imperfections in the pressing. As a former importer, we were often given back brand new albums due to clicks heard in the playback.

Mint Minus - No such thing, it's either mint or not.

Excellent - A disc is super clean, with no visible marks

 Excellent Plus, means it's probably mint but can't be proven by me.

Excellent minus, is a disc that is excellent except it may have some markings that do not show up in the playing

VG - A disc that is STILL in good shape, WILL have some scuffs or scratches, not in excellent shape but well worth owning. VG + and ++,a disc that is that much better than VG.
