Description
An original 3rd Press of TBOT on the UK Harvest label. Matrix 1G/1G - 1st cut. Stampers 1-GP/2-GG. Please note there's no EMI logo showing on the labels and this dates the pressing to Xmas-1969. This Lp was released in '68 in the USA, but the release was delayed in the U.K. and did not occur until summer 1969. So, this "3rd Press" comes , at most, six/seven months after first release in the U.K. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original wide-spine Ernest J Day cover.
Vinyl (Ex+) In lovely condition and has only see light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. One of the best copies I've auditioned...quite frankly very little to complain at. Just beautifully clean audio and some great transparency. Interference is very limited in nature. All I could detect were a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments [in the final track River Deep..]. A barnstorming rendition by any standard.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) A beautiful looking specimen which, quite frankly, doesn't look far off new. Lovely clean front without ageing - and I can't make out any creasing either. The rear is in similarly good condition - just very lightest handling evident. The interior is very impressive looking - just very clean and neat...no signs of wear or ageing or anything like that. Edge wear is pretty much non-existent and the openings are still sharp. The spine is pretty close on perfect. Overall the cover retains superb rigidity. Bettering this copy would take some doing!
