Description

Original 1st Pressing from 1973 on the UK Purple lable and very importantly the perimeter text reads "Gramophone Ltd" - only the very earliest 1st pressings hold this text before it was quickly switched to 'EMI'. Also, 'Made in GT. Britain' appears at 6 o'clock on the lables.  Matrix 1U-1U. Stampers 1GMP/2GAT. Etchings "PURPLE PECKIE/PORKIE". The heavy duty record comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse cover with the original white spine. Also included is the original purple lyric inner sleeve. 100% complete & 100% original. And in fantastic condition to boot.....
Vinyl (Ex+) Judging by the labels this LP has seen very very minimal use indeed. It really is in stunning condition and looks shiny like new. I can barely see a single mark even under close inspection. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are absolutely silent. The audio is very heavy....full range, rich, and vibrant ...I'd imagine it would be pretty difficult to beat this. Please note I have occasionally experienced a skip in the final track - but just adding 1 gram to the weight of the arm always sorted it out.
Cover (Ex) Again, this beautiful cover has been looked after very carefully indeed. There's a touch of light fade at the edge of the spine, but other than that it is really well preserved. The opening edges are still reasonably sharp and the text on the spine is fully intact. The colours are all still vivid and there's almost no laminate bubbling at all.
Inner (Ex) Barely a single crease - lovely and flat with no rips. A couple of age spots on the rear, but otherwise I really can't find fault!
