Original 1959 recording presented in a cloth box.
GRADING:
Cover - Very Good
Some discoloration/browning/wear to the cloth box.
The top two corners of the box are split.
The back of the box at the top is slightly torn.
4 page insert in very good condition (No other inserts present.)
Original Decca inner sleeves. 3 are in very good condition and 1 has a tear coming from the centre.
Record - Very Good
'Original Recording By' label text at 10 o/clock.
ED1 wideband grooved label (SXL 2119 is an EDO 'pancake')
Matrix numbers are:
ZAL 2708-2E / ZAL 2715-1K
ZAL 2709-1K / ZAL 2714-2D
ZAL 2710-2E / ZAL 2713-3D
ZAL 2711-1K / ZAL 2712-1K
Labels are clean and tidy.
There are some hairlines on the vinyl but generally looks clean and tidy.
There is some background noise and occasional light tics present on the vinyl. It is noticeable but I didn't find it overwhelming.
Summary
A nice copy of a very hard to find original edition in any condition. Both the box and vinyl have some wear as described so please bear this in mind before purchasing to avoid any disappointment.
Our grading is based on the system used by Record Collector magazine as described below (We don't sell records with a grading of less than very good).
Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
