Description

This is part of a big auction full of 1950's blues and R&B 45's that I'm running this week.  There are many rarities from Peacock & Savoy as well as several from smaller labels.  Lots of gems here! Keep an eye on the store as well, I'm doing a jazz 45's auction starting in early February.

Format: 45 rpm 7" single


Year: 1957


Notes: White label promo pressing on DeLuxe. Third single from one of the more prolific R&B artists of the time. Great uptempo, jump blues kind of a sound here.  Of course there's some nice sax work and Elbert's unusual high-pitched vocal makes it sound quite different from a lot of the other 50's R&B.


Vinyl Condition: VG+, vinyl itself is in nice shape with just some light superficial scuffing. Plays great with nice sound. No ticks/pops/skips and hardly any background noise at all. The labels are super-clean as well with no tears/stickers/writing.  Just a top notch copy.


Sleeve Condition: VG, sleeve is nice with some light wrinkles and a small pencil number. No rips or tears, no splitting. Presents well and is in nice shape overall.
