This auction is for:

1. Depeche Mode – Get The Balance Right And Live Tracks - German 5 track blue vinyl 12" – cat # INT 126.836

Condition: USED

COVER: 

Cover has several general signs of wear such as thumbprints, smudges, marks, scratches and creases. There are creases, for example, near the opening and along the sides, and some of them are more noticeable than others. There is wear to the opening, including some small dents; there is also some shelf-wear to the sides. In particular, there are small but clearly visible dents to all four corners. On the plus side the writing on the spine is still legible, the cover is still fully functional and still retains much of its shine. There are no seam-splits, despite the beginning of a seam-split on the top (hardly visible.) Cover still has the " Platte im farbigen Vinyl" sticker. I would grade the cover as 4 out of 10, mainly because of the damage to all four corners, and because of the general impression of wear in the way of thumbprints, creasing etc. (flaws noted above.)

RECORD:

Visually, when examined under bright light, there are several light scuff marks and scratches – most of these having been caused, probably, as a result of being removed from and returned to the protective inner sleeve. There are also some light markings. Generally, on the Live side, the record plays well, with the music to the forefront. There is surface noise for a while at the beginning of play on the Live side and there is light-to-moderate surface noise elsewhere (crackle and static); also, the occasional ‘clicks’ (on “Satellite”, and another ‘click’ I picked up at the end of “Tora! Tora! Tora!”) but nothing which intrudes too much on the listening experience. Some surface noise can be heard on Get The Balance Right, and there are one or two ‘clicks’ that I noticed, but generally the volume (loudness) of the track compensates for such flaws. Although this record is not as rare, for example, as the clear vinyl of ‘Everything Counts’ – also listed with these auctions – my impression is that it is becoming increasingly difficult to find, and certainly harder to find on vinyl than the other two colour vinyl Live ‘companion’ albums from the same era (“Love In Itself 2 And Live Tracks” & “Everything Counts And Live Tracks”.) Since the record generally plays well, and since the light-to-moderate surface noise that can be heard in places (crackle, static, some occasional ‘clicks’) is not very distracting, I would grade it as 6 out of 10, perhaps better. It is a played, USED, but still fairly well cared for copy.

COVER: 

Cover has general signs of wear such as a few creases, marks, thumbprints, smudges. It also has pronounced shelf-wear, with the beginning of a seam-split along the spine, and at the top. There is some wear to the corners. The image is still fine, though, and the cover is still fully functional. I would grade the cover as 5 out of 10. Average, acceptable.

RECORD:

Visually, when examined under bright light, it has some paper dust from the sleeve, but otherwise the vinyl looks clean, almost unplayed. The record plays with a warp (it is ‘dished’), but the warping does not affect play: the record plays fine on both sides. Please bear in mind, also, that this is a fan club recording, so the sound will not be the same quality as on an official release. Also, since the vinyl is not the same quality as has been used for an official release, light static or crackle can be heard during play, but the record is still enjoyable despite this. An interesting addition to any DM fan’s live vinyl collection. The record has a warp (is ‘dished’), but this does not affect play. Visually, the record looks clean, hardly played. However, because there is some surface noise (crackle and light static) during play which is related, as is the case with many unofficial releases, to the quality of the pressing, and because this is not an official soundboard quality release, I can only grade the vinyl as 5 out of 10.   

3. Depeche Mode – “Interview 83 Limited Edition Of 1000” yellow vinyl 7” – “MODE 7”, “Made in England” (please see photograph)

Condition: USED

NO COVER, single is housed in generic white sleeve with “Vinyl Tap Mail Order Music” stamp on one side.  

RECORD:

Visually, when examined under bright light, the vinyl looks clean. I doubt it was played much. The record plays with a slight warp, but the warping does not affect play: the record plays fine on both sides. Sound quality is OK.

3. All records will be well packaged, with the vinyl placed securely outside the cover (inside protective plastic sleeve) so as to prevent seam-splits.

4. Payment is due within 5 days of auction end unless prior arrangements are made before the end of the auction. I will ship once payment from PayPal is available in my bank account. This generally takes between 3 to 5 working days.
