Description
Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs is the only studio album by the all-star supergroup featuring guitarists Eric Clapton and Duane Allman. It was released as a double album on Atco Records in November 1970. It is known mostly for its beautiful title track which many consider to be Clapton’s greatest musical achievement. The album peaked at # 16 on Top 200 Albums chart. It is certified Gold and was inducted into the The Grammy Hall Of Fame in 2000. It is ranked #117 on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums All-Time. The album is simply sublime and includes standout songs “Bell Bottom Blues”, “ I Looked Away”, “Tell The Truth”, “ Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad” and my personal favorite, the plaintive ballad “Thorn Tree In The Garden”.
