Description

An original 1st issue of D&D Layla on the UK Polydor label from winter 1970/71 [whilst still charting]. Matrix A1/B2/A1/B2 - very 1st cut. The vinyl comes housed in an original MacNeill cover. Please note the cover is genuine 1st issue without any Polydor logo on the front to spoil the artwork. 
Vinyl (Ex) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks per side. The only small mark which causes issues is on side 2 [detail below]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations on side 2. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. A really sweet rendition which delivers these tracks in classic fashion. The only deviations can be found on Side 2. I'm getting a bit of light background static in places in 'I Am Yours' - this is very common and difficult to eliminate entirely. Then in 'Key To the Highway' - there's a small mark [mentioned above] which causes 5 clicks in the first third of the track [fully tested]. Apart from this the rest of the LP plays really sweet and you'd find it hard to pick fault with. A really classic album which should be in everyone's collection.
Cover (Ex) In great shape and has been really cared for down the years. Very nice clean front with barely a crease visible. The rear looks great with minimal handling. The interior looks great - no issues at all. Edge wear is light and the spine is well preserved. All text is still legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
