Description

An original 1st press of LAYLA on UK Polydor from 1970. Matrix A1/B2-A1/B2 [1st cut]. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original MacNeill cover.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In super condition and has only seen light careful use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. A beautiful player - very nice and clean.. it's an absolute banger! Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Truly impressive. Even the super fussy track 'I Am Yours' plays totally clean. And so does 'Thorn Tree'. These are by far the fussiest darn tracks on the whole album - so a good benchmark for how good the copy is. I'm only picking out a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. That is a superb strike rate! If you need a quality high end audio copy this example will knock-the ball-outta-the park for you.
Cover (Ex-) Lovely clean and flat front with no surface wear or creasing - very nice! The rear exhibits a bit of surface wear top and bottom - as is common on this title. The interior is superb - no issues at all. Minimal edge wear and the openings are razor sharp. The spine is in excellent order with minimal wear. There is, however, one pin prick which has occurred at the 2nd A of 'Layla' - which has rendered it illegible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A very fine specimen.
