Description

This double LP captures Eric Clapton’s emotional peak, blending raw blues with soaring guitar work—most famously on the title track “Layla,” featuring Duane Allman’s iconic slide guitar and Jim Gordon’s haunting piano coda. The album includes both original compositions and reimagined blues standards, with extended jams and introspective ballads that reflect Clapton’s personal turmoil and musical ambition. Produced by Tom Dowd at Criteria Studios in Miami, it remains one of the most revered albums of the classic rock era.
