Description

DEXER GORDON        OUR MAN IN PARIS             Blue Note  BST 84146
Up for auction is an OG 1963 stereo Blue Note "P" pressing of Dexter Gordon's spring 1963 Parisian session, "Out Man In Paris". Featuring some of the finest expats in Kenny Clarke and Bud Powell (in one of his stronger latter efforts). Five standards, including Charlie Parker's "Scrapple From The Apple". A brilliant session - one for the ages.   DEAD WAX INFO:  Side 1 has BNL8-84146-A all etched into the dead wax. Side 2 has BNST-84146-B all etched into the dead wax. Both sides have VAN GELDER and STEREO and the cursive Plastylite "P" stamped into the dead wax. OG Blue Note stereo press, circa 1963. These don't seem to pop up too often.   VINYL VISUAL: G+ with lots of lighter marks, and one deeper audible scratch on "Willow Weep For Me". Labels are good.
VINYL PLAY GRADE: G+ and better with NICE stereo fidelity, and a fairly constant (but low) noise (static) level. Above mentioned scratch on "Willow Weep For Me" causes medium level ticking for latter half of song. Side 2 plays VG for sure. An OK listening copy, other than the ticking on mentioned track which is mildly irritating. NO SKIPS.
COVER VISUAL: VG and a bit better on this glossy ORIGINAL. General wear. Spine is GREAT. Some slight scratching across bottom front. Some pen writing on reverse. SEE PICTURES PLEASE
Comes with plain white paper inner which I have lined with an Audiophile style rice plastic inner.   DETAILS ON SELLER AND SHIPPING
HELLO ALL. My name is Jamie, and I have been collecting records steadily for over 45 years.  After a bit of a respite from selling on Ebay, I am back and will be selling a ton of stuff over the next few years. My tastes run all over the map, so there will be something for everyone. All opened items will be visually AND aurally graded. All Dead Wax info will be listed. Play grade is done on a Thorens TD 165 through Yamaha amplification and JBL reference headphones (treble set high so there will be no surprises when you get the item)
ALL ITEMS WILL BE SHIPPED WITH PROPER MAILERS AND EXTRA PADDING, PARTICULARLY AT THE CORNERS. I HAVE MADE FAR TOO MANY PURCHASES ON EBAY WHERE THE ITEM HAS ARRIVED WITH DINGED CORNERS DUE TO INADEQUATE PACKAGING MATERIAL. BY USING FOLDED BUBBLE WRAP IN ALL FOUR CORNERS, YOU CAN BE ASSURED OF AN ITEM WITHOUT DINGED CORNERS (OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND FOR THAT MATTER).             Non-tracked shipping throughout the U.S.A will be $13 CANADIAN per item, as will tracked shipping within Canada. Tracked shipping to the U.S.A. will be $16 CANADIAN for items under 500g, and slightly more for items over 500g. Most single sleeve items can be shipped as under 500g. Gatefolds and multi-sets will be over 500g.
Being a reasonable person, I will be absorbing ALL of the shipping material cost, and some of the actual postage cost.
If you have issue with an item, PLEASE work with me to achieve an outcome that will be to your satisfaction. I do offer full refunds (excluding cost to get it back to me), on any item that is not satisfactory.       SINCE SHIPPING OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE (Thank You Canada Post), I will rarely list gatefolds or multi-items for sale overseas. IF ANYONE OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS CRAZY INTERESTED IN ANY ITEM, I WILL QUOTE SHIPPING ON REQUEST. Since a lot of the stuff that I will be selling is of higher end quality, rarely will things be offered overseas. Sorry folks. Again, I can consider requests on an item-by-item basis. THANKS FOR READING, everyone.       Occasionally I will be selling rare and collectible CDs. Shipping obviously will be much less, around $5 CANADIAN within North America.
