"Not just any friday night in San Francisco.Friday Dec 5th 1980 at the Warfield Theatre to be precise.That night three guitar legends got together to make music history.For those who missed it live,this LP is the nearest to actually being there.The sense of occasion is palpable,the atmosphere electric and this 180g pressing sounds extremely vivid and detailed with clarity and dynamics that outstrips the original english pressed LP.Three of the five tracks are duets andthe separation between guitars placed at L and R extremes is excellent.At times the players are almost duelling each trying to out-gun the other.It's a summit meeting of three great guitarists at the very peak of their powers,playing with brilliance and dexterity.
On a technical level,the album is a great test equipment disc,one that clearly highlights sonic differences between components.Comparing turntables or cartridges?You could hardly choose a better LP to sort out wheat from chaff."
