Description
Diamanda Galas introduced New York to her album "Panoptikon" at Tower Records on Broadway on June 21, 1984.
I was there, purchased the album, was greeted very kindly by the artist, who inscribed the back of the album in a generous, flourishing, and somewhat difficult (for me) handwriting.
I'm quite certain she wrote, "To Debra, Thanks for your support of the mortician's invocatories. We must go reverently deliver. June 21, 1984. My most sincere regards, Diamanda." She looked awesome, with her high coloring and flowing black hair.
I have enjoyed her performance, but as even a fond fan might admit, it's not a record you wear out. In fact, I might have listened to it through once. The album has been well-cared for, however, in a smoke-free, bug-free, dirt-free home.
There are no visible scratches on either side, the cover is in fine shape. (Please pardon the glare of the flash on the cover photos.)

Addition to listing: I discovered some print materials that came with my album. They include a one-page edition of "Metalanguage", Winter 1984 and a 4-page brochure from "Claxon Geluidsfestival 4" (in Dutch) featuring Galas on the cover. There's also an article I saved, written by Kyle Gann, probably from the Chicago Reader, titled "Music Notes: Diamanda Galas's homicidal love song".
