Description
This is a 45 rpm record of the 1961 single by Dick Bills, "Rockin' and a Rollin'"/"From Here to No-Where" (Crest 45-1089). The late Dick Bills was Glen Campbell's uncle by marriage, and Glen plays guitar & sings back-up on this record by his uncle. This 45 is the third of a consecutive trio of Crest 45's by Glen in late 1961, the first being "Turn Around Look at Me" by Glen (Crest 1087), "Buzz Saw Twist" by the Gee Cees (Crest 1088), and this Dick Bills 45 (Crest 1089). The first two are not for sale in this auction, only the Dick Bills 45.
This Dick Bills 45 is extremely rare--in fact, this is only the second one I've ever seen. I would grade this 45 as being in VG- condition. It has no pronounced scratches that would cause noise, but it has much scuffing on it, and while the A-side, "Rockin' and a Rollin'", plays great, the B-side, "From Here to No-Where" has a few places in it where the grooves sound worn. It doesn't sound too bad, but you'd probably want to find a better copy eventually, if you want to wait that long! The labels are in decent condition, they look handled but not worn. There is a very mild spot in the middle of the "E" in the word "Crest" on the A-side (see pic below).
