Offered here are six long play LP vinyl records--all with different dramatizations of Charles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL
One of the Lionel Barrymore records is the famous hour long CBS Mercury Theater radio presentation as broadcast in 1939. Narrated by Orson Welles. (Radiola MR 1114) A different Lionel Barrymore version is on the MGM label and has Santa Claus on the jacket. This version runs just under 30 minutes and was recorded especially for records. Narrated by Richard Hale. Also has some Carols by the Lyn Murray Singers. (MGM PM-20).
Basil Rathbone is Scrooge on a Columbia record. (Columbia Masterworks ml4081)
Sir Laurence Olivier is Scrooge on a record that was a special promo from Pepsi Cola. This version was originally broadcast on British radio in a series called Theatre Royale.
Ronald Colman is Scrooge on a record that also has "Mr. Pickwick's Christmas" with Charles Laughton. (Decca DLP 8010)
Sir Ralph Richardson is Scrooge on a program that was especially recorded in 1960 for release on records. Paul Scofield is also featured. (Caedmon TC 1135)
Records all look great and are clean. I'm no expert but I would say that they range from VG+ to near mint. Jackets have wear but are very clean. There is a stain on the back of the Caedmon record jacket (the one with the red cover). All will be individually sleeved for protection. All play beautifully. 33 RPM.
2 FREE COMPACT DISCS: I will also include a 1938 radio version with Orson Welles as Scrooge (still factory sealed). Another is an early 1930's version with an unknown cast. These do not duplicate any of the record versions (makes a total of 8 different versions) See scan 6.
