New music from Mala and Coki and as you know by now, we've come to adore any dubs emanating from the Mystikz munitions bunkers. The top side here has already received maximum exposure as the culminating moment of DJ Youngsta's recent, excellent Dubstep All Stars volume 2 mix for Tempa. Its an apposite choice for the mix, and beautiful to have now on a fat twelve inch pressing. Raked by low-end surges, rimshot splashes, and disembodied voices generate a simply massive steppers rhythm, threatening throughout to bust into the riff which takes over around three minutes in. It's a dark, nagging rave-side riff and lifts the track into dancehall crasher territory. "Stuck" on the flip worships at the temple of boom, the kind of gritty, grainy ultra-bass we've come to expect from these characters. Isolated keys seem to float on top of another more uptempo cut, and after a year where the music has almost slowed quite deliberately, its refreshing to have a twelve as righteous as this to jump around to once more. Large, you know it!
