Original 1st Press OZ LP released in 1956 on the Deep Groove Navy/Silver Esquire Mercury label. Cat: MG-36011. This album is in MONO.
Over the next few weeks I will be listing some wonderful Jazz titles from a recently acquired Jazz collection. The original owner passed away back in 1985 and his sister decided to hold onto them for sentimental reasons. She had not touched or played them since then (1985!!). The records are in stunning condition for their age many, apart from a few light age spots on the covers, look like they walked off the shelf yesterday. I hope you enjoy viewing and possibly purchasing these wonderful jazz vinyl artifacts as much as i have in preparing them for sale and listening to them!!

Dinah Washington cut a lot of sides in two decades of recording. However, her straight jazz sessions were few and far between because of the mass popular and commercial appeal that she had as a pop singer. Still, the versatile Dinah thrived in just about any setting and the one provided here in 1955 by the gifted Chicago producer Bob Shad showcases her intimate side to perfection. Band includes Clark Terry, Jimmy Cleveland, Keter Betts, Wynton Kelly, Cecil Payne & Paul Quinichette, Barry Galbraith & Jimmy Cobb. Arrangements by Quincy Jones.

Tracks: I get a kick out of you/ Easy living/ This can’t be love/ I could write a book/ Blue gardenia/ You don’t know what love is/ My old flame/ Make the man love me.

There are a few very light spindle marks on labels. Record has a few light scuff marks which cause some light crackles most noticeable between tracks and is in Excellent condition. Gloss cover with back flaps is in amazing condition for it’s age withonly very faint ring wear and a few light age spots on back and is in Excellent condition.

Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.

Post methods within Australia: All records are posted via Australia Post. Within Australia all items come with a tracking number.

Post method for overseas: All parcels are sent via Australia Post and are sent on a standard airmail service. There are no tracking numbers on these items. If you require a tracking number the item will have to be sent as an insured item which incurs a further postage fee.
