Dinu Lipatti His Last Recital Aust Columbia 330CX 1499/1500
On “Dinu Lipptti his Last Recital” recorded at the Festival International de Besancon in 1950, he plays the Bach “Partita No. 1” , “Thirteen Waltzes” by Chopin, the Mozart “Piano Sonata No. 8”, and “Impromptus No’s 2 and 3” by Schubert. An original Australian mono pressing on Columbia Label (330CX 1499/1500), the labels are dark blue with gold lettering and these are pancake pressings. Record one has some minor wear, and record two is excellent, and they both play and sound very well with some low-level surface noise. The box top has rubbed a little with some foxing (also on the inside), and there is the beginning of a split on the left-hand edge on the back - overall condition is very good, and the commemorative booklet is excellent.
