Payment Dinwiddie Colored Quartet-Victor 1714 (from 1902)
As great as it is scarce, the Dinwiddie Colored Quartet sings "Down On The Old Camp Ground" on Victor 1714 (take-2).
Long recognized as one of the very earliest black vocal groups to make recordings, this quartet from Dinwiddie Virginia, made 6 titles at the Victor studios in New York City in late October of 1902.
This (announced) single-sided 78rpm disc is in clean V+ condition. Note-this one is from my personal collection, and it is not without some hand-wringing that I offer it!
