Dire Straits ORIG NZ LP Communique NM ’79 Vertigo 6360170 Mark Knopfler
Original New Zealand LP released in 1979 on Vertigo Records. Cat: 6360170. Comes with printed inner bag which has a few light marks and is in Excellent condition. Rushed out less than nine months after the surprise success of Dire Straits' self-titled debut album, the group's sophomore effort, Communiqué, seemed little more than a carbon copy of its predecessor with less compelling material. Mark Knopfler and co. had established a sound (derived largely from J.J. Cale) of laid-back shuffles and intricate, bluesy guitar playing, and Communiqué provided more examples of it.
Tracks : Once upon a time in the west/ News/ Where do you think you’re going?/ Communique/ Lady writer/ Angel of mercy/ Portobello belle/ Single-handed sailor/ Follow me home. There are no signs of spindle marks on labels. Record is in Near Mint condition. Cover has a few light marks and is in Excellent condition.
Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.
