“Modesty Blaise“ was the 1st Single by the Direct Hits and also their best.
After the split oft he Exits, Geno Buckmaster and Collin Swan formed The Direct Hits 1980 in South London. In 1981 their longhaired first drummer Steve Warburton were sacked, because he didn’t want to cut his hair ?!? Brian Grover was his successor. In the same year the band started to record for Dean Treacy’s Whaam! Records. Even though Direct Hits was on oft the best Mod Revival bands, great success was missing. After constantly touring in Britan and Europe they folded in 1987.

Condition: “Very Good Plus“ Eigentlich könnte die Single als „Near Mint“ durchgehen, sie wurde nur sehr wenig gespielt, und hat keine hörbaren Kratzer. Feine Oberflächenwischer sind vermutlich durch das Rein-und Rausschieben aus dem Inner Sleeve entstanden. Es befinden sich aber einige seltsame Schatten auf Seite A. Erfreulicherweise sind sie aber nicht hörbar und haben keinerlei Einfluss auf die Klangqualität. Trotzdem habe ich die Platte vorsichtshalber als “Very Good plus“ deklariert. Die Platte wurde mit Kopfhörern geprüft.
Das Sleeve zeigt kaum Gebrauchsspuren. (Siehe Fotos)
Condition: "Very Good Plus" Actually, the single could go through as "Near Mint", it was played very little, and has no audible scratches. Fine surface ”hairlines” are probably more from the in- and out-sliding from the sleeve. However, there are some strange shadows on Side A. Fortunately, they are not audible and have no effect on the sound quality. Nevertheless, I have the record, as a precaution as "Very Good plus" declared. The record was tested with headphones.
The sleeve shows only little signs of wear. (See potos)
