Available is a copy of a vinyl LP titled WALT DISNEY'S STORY OF THE COUNTRY COUSIN, subtitled (after Aesop - way after). This 12" record is narrated by Sterling Holloway and features musical accompaniment by Salvador Camarata. Although there's no specific date shown on this LP, it is generally understood that this title was published and available from Disneyland Records in the early 1960s (release DQ 1306).
This record's narration was also apparently written by Holloway, himself, and attempts to playfully adapt the story from the Walt Disney Silly Symphony cartoon titled The Country Cousin (1936). This particular Silly Symphony was itself an adaptation of Aesop's Fable The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse (alternately known as The Country Mouse and the City Mouse). Even though the record's front-and-back features an appearances by Lucifer and Jaq-Jaq from Disney's Cinderella (1950), these characters actually are not referenced by name during the record's story... these characterizations appear to be surrogates for the characters named Boots and Syrus, respectively. Obviously, the depictions shown on the outside cover of the LP do *not* correspond with those from the original 1936 Silly Symphony cartoon.
This record is in used condition - while the vinyl is clean and free of any substantial defects, it will feature some fingerprints and general wear associated with having been played on a turntable on occasion. Vinyl shows some signs of being played respectfully - not completely pristine but no hard scratches or other signs of wear that would automatically disqualify it from being thrown on the phonograph. This LP has been recently tested and plays all the way through on both sides without interruptions.
Outer sleeve is in great shape as the photos attest - no major areas of discoloration, all borders remain tight, perhaps some light shelf / edge wear, bumped corners and some light surface wear but that's about it. Also, there is no inside sleeve / envelope included with this LP.
