Description
Very Rare Original 1952 10"Mono Microgroove LP. Dizzy Gillespie self-released this album on his very own label, Dee Gee Records, out of Detroit, MI.
This album features performances by the likes of;
John Coltrane, Kenny Burrell, Art Blakey, Stuff Smith, Percy Heath, Milt Jackson, J.J. Johnson, etc.
The music is absolutely wonderful and this particular copy is incredibly well preserved. These songs were recorded in 1951 and still sound exciting and full of life 70+ years later. And the cover still looks fantastic with beautiful mid-century art on the front cover. Very hard to find early 50's records in this condition.
Record: VG/VG+ This record is 70+ years old so there has been a very slight amount of wear over the years. There may be points where there is minor noise present simply because of the surfaces age. I am grading very conservatively but, to me, this record sounded excellent. These factors do not take away from the listening and the record is exceptionally well preserved and sounds full of life. Play tested, sounds great.
Cover: VG/VG+ Signs of age are present but considering the age of the cover, it looks beautiful. See pictures.
