Description
Record Store Day 2011
Dr. Who and the Daleks
Daleks Invasion Earth 2150 AD
*** 7" Red Vinyl Single ***
In this auction you will be bidding on the following Record Store Day 2011 release:
OST - Dr Who and The Daleks / Daleks Invasion Earth 2150 AD - 7" Red Vinyl Single
RSD Exclusive (Limited to 500 Copies) - Brand New and Sealed
This is an official release exclusively for Record Store Day in the UK in April 2011
The original listing on the Record Store Day website reads as follows:
Dr. Who, OST
Dr. Who & The Daleks/Invasion Earth
7" ltd to 500 copies blue vinyl worldwide. A glorious 7" 33rpm EP taken from the Soundtracks of the two 1960's Dr Who films : Dr. Who And The Daleks and Daleks' Invasion Earth 2150!! Featuring two tracks from the Malcolm Lockyear score to Dr. Who And The Daleks, "Main Theme" and "Mountain" - two slabs of groovy 60's beat music, lush strings and twangy guitars all round! - PLUS an EXCLUSIVE mini adventure story version of the Daleks' Invasion Earth 2150 movie that has been especially created just for this EP- it stars the voice of Peter Cushing and of course The Daleks can be heard exterminating everything in their path!!
Immediately after Record Store Day 2011, there were a number of these records being listed on e-Bay, with most being red vinyl, some being blue vinyl (as per the Record Store Day listing above), and some for the 'ultra rare' orange vinyl!
I was aware that I had managed to buy myself a red vinyl copy (you can just see the record inside if you hold the sealed sleeve in a certain way), so I contacted Music On Vinyl direct to see how the final quantity of 500 was made up, and they confirmed that the entire quantity of 500 was pressed on Red Vinyl. The blue vinyl was never produced due to a last minute change of plan, and the orange vinyl is suspected to be just down to people simple mistaking the rather vibrant red vinyl for orange vinyl.
So the beautiful red vinyl copy in this auction has been confirmed as the only colour vinyl that this release was ever pressed on, and I have not seen one of these listed on eBay now for many months. So take advantage of this rare opportunity to bid on this very rare and collectable record!
Brand New, unplayed, and in mint condition. This item comes from a non-smoking and pet-free household. It will be packaged in a cardboard sleeve (with stiffener) designed specifically for the posting of records.
Tracks:
1. Main Theme
2. The Mountain
3. Mini Adventure Story
Label:
Music on Vinyl
I currently have several other records, DVDs and CDs listed on eBay.
