Description

This is Dolly Connolly's recording of "Sweet Cider Time When You Were Mine " on 78 RPM disk on single-sided, Silvertone Records (46394). Recorded on February 11, 1916 by Columbia and distributed by Silvertone, it is in excellent condition - shiny!  Connolly really delivers this with  real Vaudeville style.  She is having a great time with this song.

Dolly Connolly was a Vaudevillian who was married to Percy Wenrich who composed the song she does on this recording. Around 1905 Percy met the up and coming vaudeville performer Dolly Connolly (1888 to 1965). He was instantly enamored with here, and it wasn't long before they married on July 3, 1906. Being a musician he understood how important it was to use that gift, and she therefore was encouraged to continue her career with his support, something uncommon during this time period.

Silvertone (1094) "El Miserere" Leroy Haines (cornet) Bohumir Kryl (trumpet). Recorded between 1902 and 1910. $2.00 (Plays well, but has a chip up to the leading edge. Plays great - loud and clear)

Silvertone (416) "Hail to the Spirit of Liberty" Prince's Band (?) Recorded between 1901 and 1908. $8.00 (There is one visible surface scratch that runs on the radius from inside edge to the lead-out. It is not audible - I can't hear it - but it is visible.)
