As we grade the cover and record separately, we use our own grading system as below.

We aim to give you a frank and honest appraisal of the record and cover condition, so we do not grade higher than Excellent as we feel that unlike CD's,  no record can ever be truly be called perfect.

All records are removed from the paper sleeve for safe transport prior to shipping.

GRADE RECORD RECORD COVER AND INSERTS EXCELLENT+  (ex+) The record shows no signs of being played The cover or inserts are in pristine condition EXCELLENT  (ex) The record  shows minimal signs of being played occasionally but has no noticeable marks The cover or inserts are in near pristine condition, the spine is intact. There may be very light signs of wear, creasing or ring wear. There are no personal inscriptions on the cover. VERY GOOD+ (vg+) The record has noticeable minor marks, the centre hole is not worn. The record plays perfectly with no deterioration in sound quality. There may be minor warping. The cover or inserts are in very good condition, the spine is intact. The cover may have minor signs of wear, creasing or ring wear. There are no personal inscriptions on the cover. VERY GOOD (vg) The record has obviously been played many times with minor signs of spindle wear, it plays well despite noticeable marks and/or minor scratches. There are no personal inscriptions on the label. There may be minor warping. The cover or inserts are in good condition, but may have minor marks.
The spine is intact. The cover may have noticeable signs of edge or corner wear, creasing or ring wear. There are no personal inscriptions on the cover. GOOD+  (gd+) The record has noticeable marks,The record plays through fine but has been well played and the sound quality has deteriorated slightly.There are noticeable signs of spindle wear. There may be some personal inscription on the label. There may be minor warping. The cover or inserts have noticeable signs of wear, creasing or ring wear and minor scuffing to the edge or corner wear and spine. The There are no personal inscriptions on the cover GOOD  (gd) The record plays through fine but has been well played and the sound quality has deteriorated slightly, it has significant marks and/or scratches, there are significant signs of spindle wear.  There may be some personal inscription on the label. There may be personal inscriptions on the cover. FAIR+ (fr+) The record is playable but will have significant scratches and/or minor clicks may be heard when playing. There may be some personal inscription on the label. There may be significant warping. The cover or inserts have serious signs of edge or corner wear, creasing or ring wear and scuffing or minor tears. There are no personal inscriptions on the cover. FAIR  (fr) The record is just about playable but will have deep scratches, clicks can be heard when playing, it may even jump. There may be some personal inscription on the label. There may be significant warping. The cover or inserts have serious signs of wear, creasing or ring wear and scuffing or minor tears. There may be personal inscriptions on the cover.
